“Tell Our Story” – College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering “Sound of Water” Growth Story Presentation was held in the lecture hall of the library at 14:30, November 13.Chen Yi Ming, Wang Jingfei, Ma Tianlong, Shi Wenpei told their unique growth stories to the undergraduate students admitted at year 2015. Yu Xingwu,Party Committee Secretary of the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering, Wang Jianan, deputy Party Committee Secretary, and Bian Hongyu doctoral tutor, attended the event. Li Jiaxu from Class 16514 presided over the event, and all the undergraduate students admitted at year 2015 in the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering participated in this event.
“The alternative A+ student” Chen Yiming is a fourth-year doctoral student from the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering. He talked about his study experience from the laboratory at the college to the university abroad.From fighting in a well-equipped laboratory to earning a position in a foreign lab and obtaining the only access to the equipment. He advised the students to jump out of the inertial thinking, and do not to stay in the comfort zone. He pointed out that the competencies are learned in the unfamiliar and embarrassing environments.
When Wang Jingfei calmly spoke of her experience of “from 0 to 20,000 lines of programs” in a research project, she has become a “Project Master” who has participated in many major scientific research projects.She has finished the study of programing in only one month, which normally takes half a year, and she has worked long hours and fought against mosquitoes and bugs in the field tests. Finally, she was able to take charge of some parts of the work in the sea trial projects independently.
An awkward experience of exchanging ideas with foreign professors made “The Dedicated Man in Underwater Acoustics” Ma Tianlong determined to study English well.He took the opportunity to practice oral English with the professors, and he also gave up his English class exemption status and actively communicated with Pakistani students to practice his English speaking.Ma Tianlong's dedication is shown more evidently in his attitude towards the experimental data. A mistake in the sea trial data processing made him treat any experiment rigorously, and strive for the optimal results.As he said, bravely taking the first step is the beginning, dedicatedly doing everything is insisting, and the two complement each other. He will keep moving toward the goal.
