The major structure of the team is complete, covering underwater acoustic physics, underwater acoustic energy exchange, underwater acoustic signal processing and underwater acoustic equipment development, forming a comprehensive and professional chain; The team has clear development goals, complementary skills of team members and reasonable internal learning structure, and has formed an efficient research team with a combination of old, middle-aged and young people who have strong innovation capabilities. The research level in the fields of Marine sound field characteristics, very-low frequency acoustic detection, Marine acoustic information acquisition, hydrophone development and application is leading in the world.
The team has one academician, four professors, one researcher who is specially invited , eleven associate professors and lecturers, five teachers who are research position, and more than eighty doctoral and master's students. The team takes underwater acoustic physics and its application as its main research direction, actively carries out Marine science and technology innovation, and contributes to the development of ocean economy and the construction of ocean power. In the past two years, the team has mainly undertaken more than thirty projects such as National Natural Science Foundation projects and national key research and development programs, with a total contract expenditure of over 100 million.
