At 4:00 PM on March 17,the academician’s presentation “Conduct oneself, finish the task, and engage in research; Contribute to the shipbuilding, the sea, and the national defense” to freshmen by College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering was held in the Qihang lecture hall. The presentation was delivered by Shi’e Yang, an Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and presided over by Jianan Wang, deputy secretary of the party committee of the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering. All class 2017 freshmen of the college attended the presentation.
The lecture lasted nearly an hour, and the 86-year-old Academician Yang was standing in front of the stage for the whole period of time. With his modesty and kindness, Academician Yang has been pursuing scientific truth and sticking to it persistently. In a close distance, the master’s demeanor from him has deeply impressed all the teachers and students.
